Dr. Shehaj is an academic, research scientist, and public policy expert whose professional affiliations include Harvard University, the University of Michigan, and the United States Department of State. Dr. Shehaj’s holds a Ph.D., MA, and BA in Political Science and Quantitative Methods from the University of Michigan. Her former background includes Computer Science & Engineering.

Dr. Shehaj has extensive experience in teaching and mentoring students from diverse backgrounds and academic disciplines to develop their academic plans and research agendas. Throughout her career, she has participated in multiple university and doctoral admission committees and has mentored undergraduate and graduate students’ academic strategies and research portfolios, resulting in thesis and scientific research published in scientific journals and presented to the European Commission, the World Bank, and a number of universities across Europe and the United States. Dr. Shehaj is rigorous about applying novel research methods, teaching, learning, and mentorship strategies to inspire student motivation and professional success.

Executive Director

Elisa Laska is the Executive Director of ISA, where she leads the organization's day-to-day operations and oversees the strategic planning and execution of student admissions and university partnerships. She works closely with students and families throughout the admissions journey, providing personalized guidance while ensuring the highest standards of service across every stage of the process.

With a multidisciplinary background in accounting, finance, and higher education consulting, Elisa combines analytical expertise with a deep understanding of international admissions. Her experience spans financial planning, organizational management, and academic advising, enabling her to help students make informed decisions about their educational and career pathways.

As Executive Director, Elisa plays a central role in expanding ISA's network of global university partners, developing institutional collaborations, and strengthening the organization's presence in international education. Known for her leadership, attention to detail, and commitment to student success, she is dedicated to helping ambitious students gain admission to some of the world's leading universities.

Domenik is a Graduate of the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business, earning his BBA Degree in Business Development and Administration.

Domenik is a creative thinker with an eye for turning innovative ideas into action. With an international perspective and an educational foundation built through the rigorous Ross School’s world- renowned training, he has cultivated skills that range from analytical and critical, to interpersonal connections, and effective leadership. Domenik is committed to excellence through learning, driving sustainable growth, and championing positive change in his entrepreneurial initiatives.

Senior Partner for Transatlantic Affairs and Strategic Communications

llva Tare is Senior Partner for Transatlantic Affairs and Strategic Communications at ISA. With over 25 years of international experience across journalism, public diplomacy, strategic communications, and global affairs, she brings a transatlantic perspective to ISA's mission. A Practitioner Fellow at Harvard University's Weatherhead Center for International Affairs and a Resident Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council, Ilva has built a career at the intersection of media, international policy, and strategic communication. At ISA, she supports students with strategic communication, leadership development, and a global outlook to help them navigate highly competitive academic and professional environments.
